Tips for Working from Home & Staying Sane in Lockdown

I thought I’d love the working from home life but it’s not quite the way I planned with my husband also having to work from home plus a two year old to look after! A few days in, here are my top tips for working from home, staying sane and being as productive as possible! 1. Routine Laying out a rough routine has really helped. We’ve agreed to work in shift patterns so one of us looks after Theo in the morning while the other works, we both work while he’s asleep at lunchtime and then swap over in the afternoon.  We’ve also drawn up a plan for the day…

    Blogtacular 2015 – The Lowdown

I was quite late to the party on Blogtacular last year, only finding out about it and buying my ticket a couple of weeks before the event but I was straight on it this year as soon as tickets were available. I mentioned in my last post that the blog has been a bit neglected recently and I was so excited for the Blogtacular 2015 weekend to arrive because I knew that I’d come home super inspired and ready to get back to it. And guess what? I did! The weekend started with a train journey to London and a cheeky glass (or two) of wine. After a quick pit…

DIY Vanity Table: Upcycle a Mirror

I’ve been holding this in for a while but I’m excited to finally tell you about the project that I came up with for Wayfair.co.uk! I was able to choose an item from their site to upcycle and then put together a tutorial on how to bespoke it into something extra special. I decided to upcycle a mirror into a multipurpose vanity table using glass jars and hose clips. You can read the full tutorial on Wayfair’s site here! Hope you like it, let me know what you think!

    AW14 Style Inspiration

As hard as it is to admit, summer is pretty much over and it’s time to start thinking about a winter wardrobe. I’ve started scouting for new season colours, fabrics and prints so that I can get to work whipping up a new AW capsule collection and I thought I’d share with you some of the my AW14 style inspiration. Tartan: Tartan isn’t going anywhere but this year, rather than the classic red, tartan is moving to darker colours with greens and blues becoming more prominent. Checks: Not to be confused with the tartan, grid print checks are going to be everywhere this season, from duster jackets to tailored trousers…

    The Handmade Fair 2014

Recently I was invited to attend The Handmade Fair that’s going to be taking place in Hampton Court on 19th – 21st September 2014 but unfortunately I’ll be sunning myself in Spain so won’t be able to go. It sounds like alot of fun though so I wanted to tell you all about it in case you can make it. The Handmade Fair brings together crafters from all over the UK alongside celeb DIYer Kirsty Allsopp to create an event for anyone who loves to craft. There are lots of things going on during the day including skill workshops, a “Super Theatre” with talks from craft icons life Cath Kidston…

    Fruit Print DIY Inspiration

One thing you may not know about me is that I don’t like fruit. Ever since I was a baby I have hated the texture of fruit and veg and have never managed to find a single one that I could eat. Don’t get me wrong, I like the flavour of fruit but can only consume it in juice or smoothie form or in sweets and ice creams! So it comes as a bit of a surprise to me to say that I’m obsessed with fruit – fruit prints that is! Perfect for summer, the fruit print adds a whimsical touch of colour to any garment and is so prevalent…
